You may be laughing at the title, but you won't be when the undead rise. You will be glad you read this.
Everyone has seen a movie or a TV show about zombies, whether it is Resident Evil or even The Walking Dead. It seems unreal, but there are historical events of the dead rising (i.e. Voodoo practitioners in Haiti bringing bodies back from the dead), and if it actually happened today, what would you do?
Like any other dire situation, you need a bug out bag. When the zombies come knocking, you will need to grab this bag and RUN! Things you might have in the bug out bag are a couple water bottles, some dry foods, a blanket, change of clothes, first aid supplies, and a multipurpose tool.
Prepare your family as well. Let them know a meeting place where everyone can find each other in the event of a zombie invasion. If for some reason your home is not inhabitable, choose a secure place that you can go instead.
Something you will definitely want to have with you in this situation is duct tape. Use the duct tape to wrap multiple times around your hoodie or jacket arms. This can prevent zombie teeth from sinking into your flesh, rendering you undead yourself. In fact, wrap all exposed areas in duct tape. This could be the difference between life and death. Using a hospital neck brace is also a great idea for keeping your neck safe from bites!
Ensure you have a great pair of running shoes that are strong and durable. Bring a bandana to cover your face. Can you imagine the disgusting smell that would emanate from all those dead bodies walking around? You can tie the bandana around your face to mask the smell.
If you have a baseball bat at home, bring that with you! If you don't have any weapons, you will have to make your own. Most zombies seem to be killed effectively with head shots. If no gun is available, you can use found objects as weapons. A large plank of wood with nails jutting out of it could be effective. Also, a lead pipe could be very useful for bashing out those zombie brains. Although you may not want to get too close, a knife through the brain seems to be a popular method of killing a zombie.
If you have a bug out bag, and a plan, you are almost prepared for the zombie apocalypse! Now, it's just a matter of waiting...
